Agreed on all points. The MMO market is very fickle. I'm definitely skeptical over its implementation in terms of size and expansiveness - WoW survived from having a pretty damned big world out of the box. Given time to market, I can't see how a Torchlight MMO would last when D3 may be in the air. The co-op aspect is probably the biggest goof. DLC in a few months time perhaps?

That said the sheer value for dollar element aspect pwns for TL. There is definitely a new bar set now. It really is a stunningly beautiful engine. Hopefully Runic will listen to the masses!

Co-op is now a deal breaker for many!

I tried it out and it is a great game - my only major complaint is that there is no Co-Op. To me the diablo based games were about competing with your friends to see who could get the best gear or basically show off to the other person. As a single player game I fear I will grow stale of it too quickly.

I think the dev's shot themselves in the foot by not offering basic co-op, the D2 community would have been all over this game if they had and it would have given them some mindshare to lean over to the Torchlight MMO that will come out in a 18 months or so - without it Torchlight is going to slowly fade from peoples minds, and be completely erased once D3 comes out and then the MMO will have a harder time getting an audience.
